About the song:
Now on 44kHz! I found out I could make a ROM and load it in Kega Fusion, and also make a VGM file from Kega and load it in Winamp or VGMPlay. I was recording VGMs from Kega and loading them in VGMPlay for a while, and then I noticed DefleMask could make VGMs by itself and were way better. What you hear here is Audacity's recording of VGMPlay playing DefleMask's VGM file

I wanted this song to use no sampled drums, so I could have some sampled screaming. I made the samples myself with Audacity (not my voice, lol), and played around a lot with the length and pitch of the sound, and I think I made them 8-bit correctly. Finding out the right pitch of the screaming was the hardest part, in the end I just played my sample and the original at the same time and tried to make them match. As for the drums, I used some previous knowledge to make them sound right: I've been recreating some Genesis songs in DefleMask to learn some tricks, and Thunder Force IV's drums helped here. And then something happened: when loading the song as a .vgm or .gen file, the super long scream sample would ALWAYS come out "dirty", like, it would interfere with the drums somehow and make them sound twice as loud in some parts for no reason, and no matter what I changed, it just kept happening, and then it just didn't

Deciding whether or not it was finished took me just as long as it did to make it. The screams sound just too silly to me, and I can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but since there's not too much I can do to change it, I must consider it finished.
