This is a cover I made back in 2013 of the song that plays in Face Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. This was the very first song I did as part of my project, back when I was just doing the dungeon and mini-dungeon music (although technically I had already done Mysterious Forest and Turtle Rock, just not as part of the project). I wanted to style it after baroque recorder ensembles, given how heavily J.S. Bach's work influenced the original song. This was probably the most important song to get right in the project (arguably after Ballad of the Wind Fish), given that it is one of the very first things the player hears after the game's big reveal. I think I did a good job of capturing that feeling of shock, followed by a return to taking care of the task at hand. I like to think that the second half of this cover only plays after you get the upgraded Power Bracelet!

This is part of a huge re-orchestration I did of almost the entire Link's Awakening soundtrack. In anticipation of the new remake coming out for the Nintendo Switch, I have decided to finish uploading the entire project to YouTube.
