Little Big Planet 2: User Level: Brick Dancing
1A platforming level timed to music.
I had an idea of making the platforms go in and out timed to music, and that became the level's gimmick. The design is heavily influenced by the harder 2D Mario levels which required speedrunning (SMW's Outrageous sticks out the most).
For some reason, players did not understand the timing. You're supposed to jump when the platform is retracted, so by the time you reach it, it'll extend. People made the same mistake over and over again. My game design teacher asked me if I could do anything to communicate this mechanic. My response was: "Dying isn't enough?!"
So far I've yet to see a player reach the 2nd. checkpoint, and there are 5. Only one other person online was able to complete it.
