55Despite trying out settings from other videos on YouTube, I still frequently experienced freezes / crashes and missing graphics on certain tracks. This video and the settings contained within solve the problems with this game and it is now truly playable.
Another Mario Kart clone this may be, but with Sony's big money behind it, this game purveys a sense of quality other knock offs can not match. The graphics for the system were truly amazing for the time and still look great today. The music was catchy and well suited. The gameplay refined and good fun. Just like any other weapons based kart racer, getting hit by a homing rocket (the red shell equivalent) on the last lap and losing the race can be immensely frustrating, but this is to be expected in this genre... The only disappointment with this game was the fact that it ran at 30FPS. Now with RPCS3 you can run it at up to 60FPS, but it takes the latest and greatest intel CPU's to get even close to that in demanding moments. Definitely a game worth having if you like Mario Kart type racing games.
