Little Samson is a famous game due to its rarity and the disgusting price tag it comes with; however, it is also a solid platformer sporting some of the finest controls on the system, if not the best. 4 different characters changeable on the fly makes you think of Bucky o'Hare or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, more so Bucky, as the beginning of the game kind of starts out like it, with tutorial levels where you learn and earn your heroes instead of starting with all 4. The characters each come equipped with their own strengths and weaknesses, and the game's level design and boss fights leave you with the potential to use them all. Very good game design there. I have run into games where they pretend to give you options, but in reality you're sticking to one character or one item. This game doesn't do that. There are upgrades to your health throughout the levels and a potion that refills your life bar; each character can carry one. The game has two difficulties: easy and normal. Playing on Easy will make for a shorter experience. Normal mode will unlock a final boss fight and a couple extra levels. It is a very athletic game, with decent sounds and music; the graphics too are pretty good, though some of it kind of looks janky to me, mostly the backgrounds. I originally gave this game a 10, but I am going to cut it down to a 9.2. The end of the game is kind of perilous and makes for a frustrating grind, as the farming of enemies becomes impossible and it gives you too many 1 ups. If you're struggling at the end, you often just want to force a death by running out all of your lives and continuing. When you do that, you get back all of your health and characters that have died, but the game just kind of makes it a process to do that. I guess you could just say get good or just play on easy, and all of it will be avoided and the game remains a 10/10, but naw, they could of just done the end better on normal.
