Fader Port Review

New Iberia Louisiana rapper Hurricane Ronnie could be the next big thing.

At least Snoop Dogg thinks so.

After they played to a sold-out crowd of 10,000-plus in Los Angeles , California, on Tuesday night, Snoop Dogg began addressing his opening act as "Up Next." A new era of g funk!

The audience was "treated to a half hour high-energy electric performance from Hurricane Ronnie, who opened his set with 'Fantasy' and closed with 'Palm Trees & Daiquiris' and literal fireworks," according to Evolution PR Nashville.

Hurricane Ronnie, who's built up a broad fan base through YouTube and Spotify, released single “Palm Trees & Daiquiris ,” on May 20. The song "boasts a swaggy electronic beat infused in the track with the 808 drums, deep bass, and "California G funk flava," a news release says. The single is now on Spotify’s Rap Caviar and Apple’s New In Rap playlists.

Also, Hurricane’s grimy gutter gangsta anthem “Bust Yours"” is set for release this summer, and will be included on his "Gangsta ish" EP dropping this July.

Hurricane's genre-bending music is described as "a gumbo of hip-hop, R&B, hook-heavy pop, and 90s style rap, glued together by a enigmatic artist who raps and sings not only about his own experience in his past, but also about his life and stories from all around the globe, and his dreams for the future. He's says it's like the book "The Secret"..whatever I put in my music comes true if it hasn't already.

Tuesday's show was the first of Snoop Dogg's "Dogg Day of Blaze Tour," which will hit Chicago, Illinois, Thursday; Brooklyn, NY, Friday; New York, New York, Saturday; Hollywood, CA May 7; and Las Vegas, May 14.
