Live! Building a mobile app with Eclipse Thym and a Java EE backend 2
Are you a Java developer and want to develop a mobile app that connects to a secured Java EE back end, but you don't know where to start? This session is tailored for you. This live coding session, using the Eclipse IDE (Thym, WTP, JBoss Tools), goes step by step through building a complete mobile, hybrid, multiplatform application.
Starting from scratch, and using only Eclipse tooling, the session takes you through building a simple Java EE application and, from there, scaffolding a mutliplatform mobile client.
This mobile client will be build using modern Web technologies based on HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. Ionic, which is heavily integrated with AnuglarJS, will be used as UI Framework. Then, this web app will be wrapped into a native Mobile application using Cordova (aka PhoneGap).
After we secured both the front and back end with OAuth2 we will finally implement sending Push Notifications from the backend to be received on the mobile client.
This is an in-depth session in which the attendees will learn concretely, and without using hipster tools, how to enter the mobile world.
