At Wedia, we’re specialist in developing software for the Media Industry. We’ve developed for 7 years a RCP Eclipse Application that has been sold to major publishers in France. It includes new UI paradigms for creating daily newspapers, such as zoomable user interfaces, it connects with graphic softwares such as Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop…

How do we handle hundreds of connected users (editors, creatives, writers, designers) who work everyday with a deadline ? Join us to discover how we tackled all these challenges thanks to the Eclipse RCP Platform.



Eclipse RCP has a long, documented use in the Industrial Goods production. The Media industry includes other challenges, such as heavily collaborative creation in a very short span of time, often limited to the day. We’ll be discussing real-time collaboration and automatic Eclipse RCP refreshes, visualization tools that allow to zoom into hundreds of pages being created simultaneously, and live connexions with creative tools such such as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.



Connected, live and massively cooperative work environments are more and more our future tools.
We hope to show you how we managed to work with the Eclipse RCP platform on these matters, to give you some insights on the pitfalls, issues and troubles we ran into, so you won’t have to.



We’ll be demonstrating how to create a newspaper using a RCP-based software. This is both entertaining (who haven’t run its very own fanzine in his childhood ?), and insightful, as this shows how flexible the Eclipse platform is, in a real-use case.
