Welcome to Elden Ring: Dark Moon!
a modpack based on Elden Ring: Shattered, a gameplay overhaul by water_bear.

This modpack is a personal project that aims to add on to Shattered’s gameplay overhaul while adding some things from myself and some other creators. This is a constant work in progress, but this first release should have enough to make for a satisfying change of pace with the base game.

Alright! For those unfamiliar with Shattered, the overhaul aims to make Elden Ring’s combat flow faster in a way similar to Bloodborne. Head over to the Nexus page for that mod to get the full patch notes, but here’s the broad strokes:

Shattered Changes

Many movesets have been updated with running attacks notably being added into the combo chains, making combat feel faster.
Rolls have been replaced with a Bloodborne style quick step.
Upon picking a difficulty (of which there are now 5), the Rally system from Bloodborne will be activated, allowing you to regain health for a short period by retaliating after taking damage.
Lots of new weapons have been added, including a handful from Bloodborne.
Equip Load and armor stats have been removed, putting more of a focus on fashion.
Other overhauls to smithing stones, crystal tears/Minor Erdtrees, scaling, etc. Please check out Shattered’s full patch notes to read more about these.

I love the way Shattered changes the pace of Elden Ring’s combat. Feels faster and more natural and definitely incentivizes aggression in the same way Bloodborne did. That being said, I’ve added, removed, and changed a ton to Shattered to make Dark Moon feel different and to still give you all a reason to go play Shattered by itself, because it’s great! That being said, here’s the gameplay changes I have made to Shattered:
