Break the Cycle....
Revita is probably best described as a
Twin-Stick Shooting Roguelite game.
It involves taking a train to a tower and
dying over and over and over in pursuit of
the top. The main themes seem to take
a while to come into play, but the Content
Warnings at the beginning can give you
the gist of the more intense ones.
The main game mechanic is the ability
to spend your health in various ways
for various upgrades and bonuses. It's
a risk reward system where you decide how
risky you want to make things. It's possible
to heal by spending a resource bar that
builds by killing enemies, but it doesn't
build very quickly, so you may find yourself
without the health you need in a critical
moment. And that's a risk that is up
to you to take.
All in all, I like Revita! It's a really difficult game,
and it's pretty easy to end up in a virtually
unwinnable situation, but it rewards
audacity and clever thinking. And I can
appreciate that!
