245The customer provided me with a brand new Fractal Design Focus G case because he wanted to continue to use both a DVD and a Blu-Ray drive and this was the only case he could find at a reasonable size and price that would meet these requirements. I was not familiar with this particular model of Fractal Design case, so I assumed that should not be an issue.
I was wrong.
Absolutely the single worst Fractal Design case I have ever worked on (and will never work on again), No rear case fan is included, the two front fans light up with swastikas (i believe its unintentional) and the case material is very thin with the case window made entirely out of plastic, The inside edges of the cases are easy to get lacerations while installing your choice of hardware between ram and the power cables don't get much concern for pinching or physically shockingly limited area behind the motherboard tray that may must share together in a talented cable management process the extremely shallow and full visible exposure of cables we are trying to keep hidden in channels in this case that are not optimized to handle this much cable at this length in such area. We may struggle to get the back panel back on properly due to severe lack of cable management considerations.
No USB type-c is is offered on the case, and the front case only provides one each USB 2 or USB 3. This deletes the additional two USB ports carried by the same cabling. Also, front case POWER LED was DOA and requires entire front control panel be unwired, unscrewed and removed, then do the reverse work when a new control panel arrives and test the replacement part doesn't also contain a failed power LED.
Fractal Design really fracked up on this one, It cheap, not made well, hard to cable manage in, has a plastic window, and a side panel made of very thin flexible metal.
So we are dismantling the Fractal Design to return it back for a full refund and are are going to start the build over in the Cougar MX330-G PRO
