The Season 1 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone has arrived, bringing more weapons, a new multiplayer map, and the Ranked Play competitive mode. Activision has revealed the full patch notes for this midseason update, which includes weapon balancing, spawn adjustments, quality of life updates, and more.
Season 1 Reloaded adds two new weapons with the HRM-9 submachine gun and TAQ Evolvere light machine gun being available to unlock with in-game challenges. The update also includes new operator bundles, a limited-time multiplayer mode, and event challenges themed around The Boys TV series.

On the Warzone side, the midseason update adds the new Champion's Quest nuke challenge, which is similar to last year's nuke challenge. The developer says a new "steal" mechanic will arrive in a later season, and details on how this works will be released closer to implementation.
The developer also discusses map polishing, which is meant to provide players with a "smoother and more immersive experience." The updated map areas include:
Fixed over 50 mantle spots
Fixed over 50 mounting spots
Fixed over 150 areas affected by clipping
Fixed over 20 known, exploitable areas
Improved lighting in 43 buildings
Plenty of weapon balancing is also included for the battle royale. This includes a maximum damage increase from 32 to 35 damage for the Holger 556 assault rifle, and the MCW assault rifle gained a maximum damage increase from 24 to 28 and a near-mid damage increase from 20 to 24. Additionally, all of MW3's powerful light machine guns received nerfs to reduce the maximum and minimum damage ranges. These weapon changes only affect Warzone.
An adjustment is made to Warzone's deployable Buy Stations. Loot underneath a Deployed Buy Station will now be removed to prevent overlap and difficulties interacting with the device.
For Modern Warfare 3, Ranked Play mode and the new Rio 6v6 map arrive in multiplayer. Several maps have major spawn adjustments for the Hardpoint mode. This list includes Highrise, Invasion, Karachi, Terminal, Sub Base, Scrapyard, and Underpass. The Estate map also received an adjustment for the Control game mode, which prevents the Kitchen Control capture point from being contested from the Main Room.
Two changes were made to the Infected game mode. Using a field upgrade will no longer cause it to become disabled for the remainder of the match, and the Deployable Cover field upgrade will no longer fail to deploy upon attempted placement.
Weapon balancing also arrives in multiplayer. MW3's SVA assault rifle has a slight buff of 3% to maximum damage, while the DG-56 assault rifle is hit with a huge reduction of -43% to the maximum damage range and a -31% drop to the gun's medium damage range.
Additionally, some MW2 weapons are buffed to be more viable. The most impactful change is that the STB-556 assault rifle receives a whopping 100% increase to the maximum damage range, which goes from 15.2 meters to 30.5 meters. It also gains a 34% increase to near-medium damage range and a 16% gain to medium damage range.
Other MP changes include adjustments to killstreaks and equipment. Enemy Cruise Missile killstreaks will no longer be targeted and destroyed by trophy systems, and the SAM Turret streak is nerfed to have increased cooldown between missiles and it will no longer target and destroy the Advanced UAV.
For Zombies mode, Season 1 Reloaded adds the new Warlord boss Dokkaebi. Other small adjustments include the ability for players to leave their squad, and milestone notifications are added to notify players of certain progression milestones when completing missions. Various crash and stability fixes are also made.
