Live Soldering: XT CF Lite
The XT CF Lite is a popular card to get an XT class PC to use Compact Flash cards as a hard disk replacement. It is a bit finnicky to assemble, du to the tiny legs on the Compact Flash slot. I will try to explain on how I go about this and what tools I use for that. Let's hope it works!
The card can also be used in AT class machines, e.g. to get support for CF disks that are larger than 504 MiB, which many older BIOSes do not support. It will not be as fast as a 16 bit controller, but maybe useful as a second controller for data exchange with a more modern system.
