Season 4 is drawing to its inevitable conclusion, so when will Raven Software launch Season 5 of Call of Duty: Warzone? Here’s everything you need to know about the latest season, including all of its exciting new content.

We’re now about to receive the next major content drop with Warzone and Cold War Season 5. This brings new weapons, Perks, Operators, and even some Verdansk map changes.

Here’s when the Season 5 action begins, and everything that’s included in the update.

Warzone Season 5 start date
So when will Season 5 kick-off? Activision has announced confirmed that Warzone Season 5 has been delayed by 24 hours and will now launch on August 13, 2021.

Warzone Season 5’s update will go live on August 12 at 9 PM PT / August 13 at 12 AM ET / 5 AM BST. This will also mark the start of the new season, so you’ll be able to get straight into the action as soon as you finish installing the update.

New Warzone Perks: Combat Scout Perk
The new Combat Scout Perk is all about giving and receiving information. If you damage an enemy, they’ll be briefly highlighted orange and will be automatically pinged. This puts the aggressive player at much more of an advantage in gunfights.

Tempered Perk
The second new Perk, Tempered, improves the effectiveness of your Armor Plates. Rather than giving you more armor, Tempered will allow your Armor Plates to absorb 75 damage instead of 50, and you’ll only have to carry two.
Your Armor Plates stash will last longer, and you can plate up even faster. This is sure to be a powerful Perk for aggressive players.

Verdansk map changes and new Warzone Gulag
Warzone won’t be seeing significant map changes in Season 5, but the new Mobile Broadcast Stations are set to shake up the gameplay. These Broadcast Stations spawn in random locations around Verdansk and will offer high-tier loot.

There’s also an upcoming “[Redacted]” POI arriving later in the season. The roadmap teases that it’ll act as a counter to Perseus’ efforts. Devs said that “Operators should look for [[REDACTED]] when it arrives on [[REDACTED]] within Verdansk, as a highly important [[REDACTED]].”

Also, as with every new Season, the Gulag will change once again. Season 4 brought Hijacked as the Gulag, and Season 5 will now see players duke it out in the classic Rush map. Rush arrived in Cold War with Season 4, so you can use it to familiarize yourself with the BO2 map ahead of Season 5.
