I loved the first Darkness and like this one. The story isn't as grand and its uber short and linear, the gamplay is still solid though. Where the game really shines is in its characters. They really did a good job giving everybody in your crew a personality and enough optional dialogue to ensure I wasted way too much hanging out at the mansion. The voice acting is great but I still have some reservations of the use of cell shading. Plot wise I have always had a soft spot for Jenny and Jackie and they really push it hard in this game and I loved it.

I understand why this genre has been dormant for the last 10 years. It's because it not fumbling around with driving and shooter controls. It's still one of those thing that most sandbox games still can't figure out. Then you throw in game design that always requires to be number one to progress and things get annoying because it seems like every other racer is out to get you and ignores everybody else. So the minimal three person main campaign holds some interest until you realize that you can just watch all the movies on the net and save yourself all the time and aggravation. Once again this game is probably great for those diehard fans and online people but just holds no appeal to me.
