Longplay: Gradius (TurboGrafx-16)
By: Konami
This is arguably the best version of Gradius 1, with enhanced graphics and music. It even has a new level, a desert graveyard that would later show up in the Wii game Gradius ReBirth.
As for Gradius itself, it still holds up really well, and for a 1985 game it looks about two years ahead of its time. It doesn't have the variety its sequels have in weaponry or in levels (the fourth level is just the first one flipped upside down, and you fight the same Big Core boss in almost every level) but it's still a great and totally replayable game. Although, you do lose all of your powerups when you die and go back to a checkpoint--provided this doesn't turn you off, the thrill of staying alive and keeping your OP weapons is what makes Gradius fun.
