I've finally come to the end of the main series Sonic games for now, and it ends on an... 'ok?' point. I dont hate Forces, modern sonic plays fine, i enjoy the OC character and the writing is so ridiculous its funny. Classic Sonic definately brings down the overall product though and all stages are far too short to properly enjoy fully. Not the worst game but for sure far from the best.
