This is the longplay of Congo's Caper game, known in Japan as Tatakae Genshijin 2: Rookie no Bōken (戦え原始人2 ルーキーの冒険 'Tatakae Genshijin 2: Rūkī no Bōken'). It was released in 1992 in Japan and in 1993 in the United States and Europe.

The game starts by showing a colony of happy little monkeys, when two rubies fell on a couple of them, both of which turned into humanoids with monkey characteristics. The protagonist, Congo, goes after Congette, his partner who was kidnapped by a demon. Congo has now become half ape and half human and must go through several stages in prehistory to rescue his beloved Conguette.

The gameplay is very simple, Congo is able to attack with its piece of wood, as well as climbing over the heads of stunned enemies or climbing pterodactyls in order to reach higher places. Every time Congo is hit by an enemy, he reverts to his monkey form. By collecting three rubies, Congo becomes Super Congo and receives special powers, greater resistance to damage, as well as being able to jump higher.

This is an action-platform game developed by Data East as a spin-off from the Caveman Ninja game series, known as Joe & Mac in the United States. It's a good game and very well done. I hope you enjoy the video.
