Looking for our friend, finding nightmares / Lets Play Hamilton
Ok, so I hope this will not ruin my stats if people find this video because they are looking for Hamilton material that’s not about the indie horror game (if so, sorry). However, it might not have snappy tunes to sing along but Hamilton developed by November does have an amazing soundtrack, a cool story and some very nice visuals. We play as an unnamed protagonist who is on the lookout for their best friend who went missing looking for some cool, mysterious stuff in a forbidden mountain area together with her boyfriend. Oh man, I have a bad feeling about this …
This was so creepy, I started playing this being my usual chipper rambling self and then got awfully quiet towards the end as the terror gripped me (watch it, you can see me slowly getting quieter and quieter).
Play it yourself and give some love to the dev: https://november115.itch.io/hamilton
Also, since Decestia recommended this to me, mayhaps you’re interested in their itch game “In the Mountains”: https://decestia.itch.io/
Oh, and because I was talking about mountain accidents and the Dyatlov incident. Here’s an article on the many lost bodies in dangerous mountain areas (horribly enough, this is a real problem that also affects climate change, it’s WILD): https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20151008-the-graveyard-in-the-clouds-everests-200-dead-bodies
And here’s my reading tip if you want to know more about the Dyatlov Pass incident. The book is self-published, I bought it after quite some research because I didn’t want to read something that only collects the Wikipedia info and then highlights the more absurd theories, I wanted a more pragmatic approach and this really is it. It gets quite scientific at times but that really helped me make sense of the different theories and also tought me to never EVER going climbing. The book is called “Dyatlov Pass Keepts its Secret” and it was written by Irina Lobatcheva, Vladislav Lobatchev and Amanda Bosworth and it’s available as a print version but also as an ebook.
