Office space from hell / Incredibly chaotic Lets Play of Backrooms
Developed by Reflective Surfaces, Backrooms is a game adaption of a creepypasta that also has spawned an incredibly cool horror short movie series by Kane Pixels (linked below). As of now, there’s dozens of Backrooms game variations on itch but I’ll stick with this for now because I think it works the angle of the story perfectly by not overdoing it.
I did not know the video shorts or the creepypasta when I played this, so sorry for not further elaborating on it throughout the Lets Play. Additionally, sorry for this being one of the most chaotic Lets Plays I’ve ever done, although I am usually just as rambly, I feel like I was very all over the place in this particular instance. Oh well.
Some background to the Backrooms:
So, the main gist of Backrooms is that you basically glitch through (the matrix? who knows) into a weird place, like the back offices of our universe that actually do look like boring and eerily empty office spaces full of ugly wallpaper and carpets and that quite possibly have that weird carpet smell you usually only get in those buildings. These maze like spaces are not just scary because they seemingly never end and have no exit but they also might not be as empty as you thought.
I think Reflective Surfaces did a great job with the game version, because I got all that through the game.
