Did you know that you can mass loot zombie clothes quickly and efficiently with a campfire? In this video I teach you how to get all the burnable/rippable clothing off zombies by placing them on or near a n existing campfire. Once everything is in place you can right click on the campfire and go to "add fuel" and then click on "all." Make sure you don't have anything you don't want burned in your inventory if you actually intend to add the clothing to the campfire for fuel. Your character will then loot all the clothing off the zombies in a matter of seconds until your inventory is full. Either drop the clothing off to the side, rip it, or actually add it to the campfire - whatever you prefer for your playstyle. You may have to do this several times depending on how large your body pile is and how much you can carry at once. When you're finished and if you piled all the zombie bodies on directly on top of the campfire tile you can immediately dispose of them by carefully lighting the campfire. You can either leave the ash pile if you plan to burn zombies at the location again or you can clean them up with a shovel. With the educational portion of the video complete I move onto continuing Cinder Ella's story in Project Zomboid.
I make my way down Rosewood's main street first on a scouting mission then I return home for a new axe and to organize my base and prepare for my final loot run. I depart in my car, Fred, and drive down to the grocery store area I previously looted. This area is packed with the undead and I am quickly overwhelmed by their numbers. I try to ball them up in a horde for another parking lot burn with a molotov cocktail but they're just too many and it's getting late. So I start the burn with a large horde but with many more still pouring in from all directions. It takes several hours but finally the last zombie falls and I then make my way in the dead of night to the clothing shop. The windows are busted and there are zombies milling about everywhere- mostly unseen. I can hear them all around me as I creep my way into the clothing store to grab the loot I came here for: four mannequins dressed in still pristine and stylish clothing from before the end-times. I carry them one at a time to Fred; who waits with her lights on and ready to go at any minute. Some zombies seeks me out - likely the noise and smell of my still living flesh. I quickly dispatch them and successfully grab each of the mannequins. I quickly loot the rest of the shelves and find a delightful Hawaiian shirt and some clean jeans in my size. I quickly stuff them and a taxi key I find quietly hanging on a rack in the back and return to Fred. She quickly starts up and her loud engine reverberates off the walls of the buildings and into the empty, dark streets. I turn around and quickly drive the firestation. My axe is ready just in case but I'd really rather not stop to fight any of the undead tonight as it's already past midnight. The drive home is, shockingly, uneventful and I leave Fred and my loot in the parking lot - there's no one around anymore to steal anything. I wake up rested the next day and quickly set up my new mannequin friends. One on my patio with the rest of my family. I place one in the canteen, one in the rec room, and one in the garage. I dig out the still bloody uniforms of my coworkers and wash them gently with the precious water from my rain barrels. I give each of the mannequins one of the uniforms of my former coworkers and they turn from mannequins into my friends again. The loneliness still plagues me but with each new friend I collect it becomes harder to remember what life was like before. The world is more peaceful now than ever before and I can find joy in that with time.
