In the Loot River demo the first boss you fight is Gantley the Usurper. He's kind of like Genichiro in Sekiro in that you're not really meant to beat him. He's meant to kill you. If you beat him you get the Sword of the Fake King. However, because you're not meant to beat him, the game auto kills you soon after and starts you off with normal weapons again (ie. it takes the Sword of the Fake King from your Inventory). At least, that's the case in the demo. Won't be the case in the full game I imagine.

To beat him, I first arranged the playfield into a shape that would enable me to gain distance on his attacks and dodge. That was pretty much the key as he can annihilate you real fast if you have nowhere to dodge/run to. I was beating him fair and square and then he got stuck at the end. Would have beaten him anyway, but I'll take the gimme.
