For this fight I recommend any two weapons that have different status effects. For this fight I used Andrea's of Ebbs sword with Poison. Then I used Grinning Axe which has Ignite / Fire.

I threw on the Bloodbane Ring to get my 4th status effect in Bleed. As well as a Ring of Sanguine might which builds posture damage for this boss while it is bleeding. Then threw in some Frostbite Salts on top for good measure, and added the Amulet which causes more damage the more status effects applied.

On NG+ Any runes which add buildup for the multitude of status effects will help keep this boss interrupted for a majority of the fight.

Have Aura of Tenacity and Invigorating Aura Spells Equipped and use them prior to walking into the arena, to reduce damage, and to give yourself continuous healing, and bring some manastones to replenish.

Any Armor which protects against physical. I personally don't like to get into having anything less than medium roll.
