Retro Jam 7 is a collection of maps inspired by ancient mesoamerican themes and the classic Quake map "Castle of Koohoo." This is Ray Dahlia's entry into the collection and I had a lot of fun with it! Perhaps I was able to cheese some of the enemies too much, but it made up for it with sneaky spike traps.
This is being tested with a custom shader I made, Bandither, for FTEQW, GZDoom, and Doom 64 Remaster. This shader reduces the color depth to match that of mid-90's hardware like the Sega Saturn, Playstation 1, and early PC 3D graphics cards. It has an optional non-linear skew to it which works well for darker games like Doom 64 and Quake. It has various dithering modes seen on classic hardware like bayer, checkerboard, and magic square (and a lot more). Here are the settings I used...
Color Levels: 8 (3 bit)
Banding Curve: 5
First Dither: Bayer 8x8
Second Dither: Motion Noise
Dither Blend: 0.2
Dither Amount: 0.5
Pixel Size: 2
