Lost Judgment - Part 38: Chapter 5: Double Jeopardy
0A new chapter opens with Yagami and Kaito talking with Tsukumo about the murder footage, before heading to the Genda Law Office, where they run into another acquaintance, Mafuyu has also come to investigate about this video!
After exploring some possibilities, the group concludes that talking to the groping victim is their best bet at this point, and while Saori organizes this, Yagami and Kaito have some time to kill...
And the RK seem more than willing to help them with that! After leading them around the city and beating up a few of them, Kaito suggest simply going to their HQ to "negotiate". Unfortunately, only he is allowed to enter once there.
But Yagami's not one to leave his partner alone and soon sneaks in... The first part is pretty straightforward, enter the little room on the right and make your way to the vent, then follow it until you can get the bartender disguise.
From there, you can backtrack and get the safe's code to crack it open and get some gear, but I kinda got a bit too nervous and proceeded onward instead, no big loss either way.
After a thug makes you mix him a drink, the real tricky part begins, follow the glowing spots while neutralizing guards on the way, but keep an eye for the big guy who regularly turns around, once you neutralize him thanks to the smokescreen powder, you're done with stealth.
After that, Kaito will decline Akutsu's offer, and the RK isn't going to take it lightly, so you'll have to fight them off! Three waves of them to be exact, all led by Kaneda who'll pull out a knife. Nishihara, the big guy from the stealth part, will also join in the third wave, acting as a secondary boss of sorts. Kaito's with you thankfully, so you aren't alone against these guys!
Once they're dealt with, you'll meet Kazuki Soma, the leader of the RK, and a seemingly pretty reasonable man compared to Akutsu, and with that, we're off as we do need to return to Saori, who you'll run into on your way to the law office, take a taxi to Mamiya's Apartment and you'll be off to meet her.
"Empathize with her" when prompted to and she'll let you in, take a look around to take note of a few things before sitting down to talk to her, eventually, you'll need to show some evidence that something's wrong, "Hiro Mikoshiba's Murder Footage" will do just that.
Once you're back at the office, it's time for a debriefing! When talking about the murder footage, say that "Ehara's accomplices posted it.", once the subject of the station's cameras comes up, present the "Overhead View of Station Platform" and then point out the dotted line, the one blind spot in the cameras' vision! The only explanation for this plan to work is that "Yui Mamiya was colluding with Ehara."
It'll also turn out that Mamiya was a student at Kurokawa Academy, a name that'll remind Yagami of something, point out that "Someone spying on me went there.", and Yagami will recognize that school's uniform, bringing a new element into the case!
