Lost Judgment PS5 4K 60FPS - Final Chapter - Ending + Review
0Having finished the sequel to Judgment, I can firmly say that the combat is massively upgraded from the previous entry, but...there are still some faults to be found.

+ Takayuki and his gang are more likable this time around

- Investigations sometimes slow down the story once again
- Checkpoint systems are still garbage at times
- Difficult, even on easy
- Lack of variety regarding gameplay
- Slow beginning
- Hiding from guard missions broken
Overall, I liked Lost Judgment a touch more than the original. With that being said, it's definitely not without its faults. There are times where the story can slow down due to investigations, which can throw the pacing off. Also, the beginning first few chapters in the school drag on for FAR too long before things pick up. I almost gave up, that's how boring it got. And don't even get me started on the 100 RK fight in the final chapter with that atrocious checkpoint - that alone really soured this score.
I don't really have much else to add. If you're into the story, then you'll definitely like Lost Judgment, but if Takayuki and his gang aren't doing it for you after the third chapter, I would say to call it quits. This is one of those games you'll either play through for the story alone, or give up due to the inconsistency and pacing that it brings. There's a certain charm regarding Kamurocho, however, it gets bogged down at times due to boring fetch quests that drag on for longer than I would've preferred. This game is mainly an expansion of Judgment with better gameplay mechanics.
I didn't love this game, but I definitely liked it more than Judgment, although that mainly had to do with them fixing a lot of the terrible mechanics of the first game (mainly the permanent health bar damage). Items are plentiful this time around, you have more than enough money, but even then, the story still doesn't fully compare to the first one. But what they fixed made the game far more enjoyable to play this time around.
Lost Judgment - 7/10 (Slow start and bad checkpoints lower this big time)
Lost Judgment on PS5 - 9/10 (Occasional frame drops, but nothing major that I can think of).
Lost Judgment improves upon the gameplay mechanics, however, it loses momentum with story...and unfortunately, that's the main thing people play these games for...at least for me it is. The beginning is way too slow to start and if they had cut it down by a good chapter or two, it probably would've made for a better experience.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios did a phenomenal job at bringing Kamurocho to life and if you're looking for a game with a distinct vibe and feel, you can't go wrong with the Judgment series.
