Lost Judgment [The Kaito Files] - Chapter 2: Like Father Like Son (LEGEND)
6Chapter 2 opens with Kaito reminiscing about his meeting with the famous Mikiko, giving us our first taste of investigation for Kaito! Lots of things to examine here, make sure to use the Primal Ear to hear the Yakuza talking to himself, leading you to a bonus bottle of Sake and the Primal Nose on the fridge for a Bento Lunch Set.
After finding everything there is to find, present the Box of Sweets and then Maho's Buttons, this'll conclude the investigation.
A few more cutscenes later, Kaito has to beat down on some drunks! You've got both styles for it, as well as the Sake and Bento Lunch Set if needed (And if you found them), the fight takes place in a narrow alley with bikes around, so you can go Tank and swing those babies to clear things up real nicely!
After that, we're back to the present for a discussion between Kaito and Jun, where the detective gets a mission, to find Mikiko, sounds familiar.
Time to start the investigation in earnest by heading to Café Alps, do the usual interrogating and wake up the manager, and Jun will get in some trouble with two guys, time to step out and teach them a lesson!
The elder (Fatter) one has very quick hits while the younger (Thinner) brother has slower hits, if you have the Bruiser ability to make attacks faster after a successful Repel, you can exploit the younger brother's attacks to trigger it, Tank style works pretty well on the elder too.
After that we need to go to Champion District and do a bit of exploring on the way, and encounter the Bloodthirsty Strongman, an optional boss that appears if you have the Bloody Crest equipped and he's a cut above anything I've faced so far! He's got a pretty standard knife moveset, but deals a fair amount of damage, and it means you'll be bleeding pretty much non-stop. Lots of SP if you beat him though.
As we continue our exploration, we come across another strong enemy, the Bloodstained Bludgeoner has Kuze's old pipe style, which means he's a real pain in the ass, fast hits, big damage, lots of health, so you're in for a pretty rough fight. Lots of SP for winning though!
Once you reach the Champion District, you'll be in a fight with two pretty weak thugs, one has a knife, the other a stun gun but they're not too threatening. After that (And some long search for a cat for me), you finally meet Mokoko and learn more about Maho's fate, as well as her parents', then you're directed to a special spot at the Kamuro Theater.
On the way we swing by Genda's Office where we can talk with Hoshino and grab a Memory Point, unlocking the Hammer of Will ability for Kaito before finally heading to our destination, where our search leads us to finding a lost kitty, but we get good intel out of it!
After that, we get thrust into a boss fight against Senda and his goons, the weaklings are easy, but keep an eye out for Senda, he uses Daigo's fighting style which can be threatening, you can quickstep the beginning of his combos and Repel the following hits relatively safely at least.
After that, Jun will get kidnapped, so time to head to the Bato Agency to investigate the place! That'll lead you to their new spot, the former Kyorei Clan hideout that you'll have to infiltrate.
Stealth... still kinda sucks, but at least now if you get caught you just take some damage and get a QTE to knock out the opponent, which is something.
At the top we meet with a familiar man if you've done the Boxing School Story in the main game!
After that we go meet up with Jun at the batting center and then return to the Yagami Agency to close the chapter with a pretty funny scene and new intel to go on, phew!
