Lost Judgment [The Kaito Files] - Chapter 3: Out For Blood (LEGEND)
7Chapter 3 of the Kaito Files starts nicely with a lovely date with Mikiko... before we return to reality as we reach our destination and meet doctor Shirakaba, the man who was searching for Mikiko.
He gives us a lot of information, but something's fishy... mention the Cleaning Lady's Testimony when prompted and you'll get a bit closer to the truth, and inside of the good doctor's place! Investigate it to your heart's content and you'll get even more information until an interruption happens.
You'll meet Crimson Lotus, a group of thugs, and naturally things'll escalate into a fight against them soon enough. You've got lots of enemies to beat up here, the most notable one being Nishio since he uses Mine's style which means very fast strikes that can be hard to react to, especially when he's enraged as the last one standing.
After beating them, a new challenger will step in bottle in hand and display surprising strength as he grabs an improvised weapon to beat you up! Don't try to block Kenmochi's attacks in Bruiser style, you'd just get your guard broken, Tank style could block them but evasion is always better. Be wary of attacking from the front since he can do a roll attack that'll stun you for a bit. His Mortal Attack can be tricky to counter since it requires being pretty close to him, you're probably better off avoiding it normally and exploiting the opening it leaves.
The battle will end with a button mashing QTE, nothing too difficult.
After that, we return to Kamurocho with Shirakaba and hear a commotion about a fire on Tenkaichi Alley, and after Kaito spots Mikiko on a roof, there's only one possible course of action, rushing in, beating up every Crimson Lotus on the way, and reuniting with his lost flame amidst the... well, flames. You'll learn a bit more about her motivations, but the reunion will get cut short.
After waking up at the hospital and sharing info with Jun, Shirakaba, and Sadamoto, it's time to return to the scene of the crime...
Orrrrrrr to go hunt down collectibles! The reference to Kiryu in EX Headstrong's description makes me wonder if Kaito's fighting styles aren't both his attempt to replicate Kiryu's old legends...
I also take down the third "optional boss", the Blood-Seeking Hero, who uses Akutsu's style, a pretty formidable opponent!
After all that, we infiltrate the burnt building, avoiding cops on the way, and investigate to find more intel. Once that's done, and after enlisting Tsukumo's help, we're off to track down and tail Kenmochi, it's a pretty long one, but not too difficult.
As he leads us to a love hotel, Mikiko finds herself in trouble! Time to bust down the door, beat up Crimson Lotus, and Kenmochi himself!
He's not a very difficult fight with all my new skills, just gotta be prepared for the QTE at the end, I think it's always Triangle-Square-Square-Triangle, and in Legend, you have to react fast!
