After Lords of the Fallen 2023 I wanted something new, so before I start playing Dark Souls again I thought I'd take a look at the original Lords of the Fallen (Lords of the Fallen 2014). Graphically it's a bit more comical and reminds me of an old well known MMORPG. I've heard a lot of bad criticism, but what do I care what others say when you can buy it for a pittance (5 EUR).
Right at the beginning you are greeted by familiar music, the catchy theme from Lords of the Fallen 2023 plays, only not quite as epic, rather more folklore-sounding. I immediately had a smile on my face. Then the main hero... that's... the Iron Wayfarer... oh man... great! I'm looking forward to some Lords of the Fallen backstory, very beatable combat and some dark fantasy entertainment.
The monastery is a good start, lovingly designed, it hardly looks gloomy at all, more as if there was life there a moment ago and all was right with the world a day ago. The gameplay itself is very relaxed and sedate, the developers had better not advertise dynamic real-time battles. But after all the bad reviews, I don't really expect much, which makes it easy for the game to exceed expectations. Now let's explore Keystone Monastery, the first two bosses are quite enjoyable.
