Here is how I record my video game low budget way. I'm using the OBS Studio to capture the game play. I then proceed to combine all my clips of game play in one clip and upload the video to YouTube. Enjoy.

My Computer

Motherboard: GA-78LMT-USB3 - Gigabyte
Graphics Card: RX-570 Radeon
Ram: 8 Gigabyte
CPU: AMD FX-6300 Six Core Processor
Microphone: Blue Snowball

Software to download
1. OBS STUDIO
2. SONY PLAYMEMORIES HOME "this is in .ZIP file"
3. 7-7ZIP "need this to open the .ZIP file"

First RESET your OBS STUDIO to DEFAULT setting if you don't have the brand new OBS STUDIO downloaded on your computer.

1. LAUNCH OBS STUDIO
2. FILE - Show Settings Folder
3. EXIT OBS STUDIO
4. Delete everything in this folder
5. Now you OBS STUDIO is DEFAULT settings

Launch OBS STUDIO and set these settings

A.OUTPUT MODE: Advance "Streaming, Recording, Audio, Replay Buffer"

STREAMING: I don't stream for now "No Change"

B.RECORDING:
Recording Path: E:OBS Folder "where ever you what to save you recording on you computer"
Recording Format: mp4 "flv, mov, mkv, ts, m3u8" these are other choices
Audio Track: 1, 2 "1 is audio and 2 microphone "up to 6 audio track can be recorded, I'm just using two"
Encoder: x264

C. AUDIO: default "don't change anything"

REPLAY BUFFER: default "don't change anything"

AUDIO
Sample Rate: 44.1khz "same as my microphone"
Mic-Auxilary: Blue Snowball "which ever microphone you have"

VIDEO:
Base (Canvas) Resolution: 1920x1080
Output (Scale) Resolution: 1920x1080 "can scale down to 1280x720"
Common FPS Values: 30 "my computer can't handle 60 FPS - Frames Per Second"

AUDIO MIXER: "the sound gauge flashing right to left on the bottom of the OBS STUDIO window"
Setting: Advance Audio Properties
Desktop Audio Track 1 "can have up to 6 tracks"
Mic-Aux Track 2 "can have up to 6 tracks"

Make sure that the "desktop audio" is on TRACK 1 or the sound will not play sound when playing back using Quicktime, VLC, or Adobe Premiere.
