Garland's recent video reminded me of a video I was supposed to make in 2007 or so, when I was recording my LLG series in Chrono Trigger, but my laziness of fantastic proportions got in the way. I was in brief correspondence with big_kake, GameFAQs author of the most informative CT low level guide, at the time (he found my videos and understood I had studied his great FAQ inside out), and he gave me the idea to show, in comparison to Crono's great physical damage at lv. 1 (equipped with Rainbow and pumped up to max strength with Power Tabs) to his horrible magic damage, even with Luminaire, his greatest spell (Luminaire's multiplier is noticeably greater than Robo's Shock or Magus's Dark Matter).

To have a really low damage from Luminaire, we are interested in finding any magic-resistant enemy, which would be any of the enemies with max magic defence. There are about a dozen of those in the game, maybe a little less, one of them being Lavos 3 before whom I conveniently have a save.

Crono needs a lot of luck and support in order to even use Luminaire in there (the battle immediately begins with all the odds against us in a low level challenge, as some may remember), and voila...

5 damage.

Crono has his 5 base magic stat (all my Magic Tabs went to Robo) and he's retained his lowest possible level so that should be it.
