I AM LUCHA MAN! And welcome to LUCHA MAN reviews. Today I cover Steven Universe THE MOVIE!
Almost two weeks have gone by since its release, so while I want to talk about the film, I don't want to spoil it. So basically, if you are a fan of the series, you'll enjoy it. I give it a solid 10 out of 10.
Be warned of possible spoiler ahead!:
The plot takes place two years after the end of the previous season. I wonder if the next season we are getting will cover:
A. Events leading up to the movie
B. Events after the film
C. (I'd prefer this one) A combination of both A and B.
Steven is 16 and back on earth to spend some time with his family and friends. But a new foe shows up and is threatening to destroy the entire planet.
The film is a musical, kind of like the old Disney animated films. Everything looks and sounds great, and none of the musical acts feel like it was forced in, it all sounds great.
The film feels like the series and covers several aspects: Character development, great stories, alternate ways to finding a solution, and while there are a few areas in the show that I wasn't found of, the movie was great overall. After we started getting into the overarching stories in the show, well... you know the expression , "Sins of the Father?" For this series and film, I think it needs to be changed to Sins of the Mother... You'll get it.
