Played on original SNES console with SD2SNES flash cart.

I've played Lufia II numerous times (and am currently working on learning the full game speedrun), but I'd never beaten the (very difficult) Ancient Cave sidequest before.

For anyone unfamiliar with the Ancient Cave, it's a 99 floor randomly generated dungeon, which you enter at Level 1 with no equipment/items/magic beyond 10 potions and any items found in blue chests during previous visits to the Cave. The goal is to defeat the Master Jelly on the bottom floor, which has roughly 10,000 HP and runs away after 3 turns, requiring some very specific weapons/IP abilities to defeat.

This was attempt # 4 to conquer the Cave, and I farmed blue chest items in between attempts.

I used the Frue Lufia bugfix/retranslation patch (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4129/) for this playthrough, which (among many other things in the full game) fixes a bug with Ancient Cave red chests that normally prevents shields, helmets, rings, and jewels from being found after Floor 9.
