Lula and Petro reject threats to sovereignty amid tensions with the U.S. | El Tiempo
In Manaus, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Gustavo Petro rejected the "threats" to Latin American sovereignty as the United States deploys warships and fighter jets in the Caribbean, near Venezuela. Both leaders inaugurated the Amazon Police Cooperation Center to combat drug trafficking, illegal mining, and deforestation.
Petro warned of a "possible invasion" of Venezuela, while Lula emphasized that the region is capable of addressing its problems without foreign intervention. #ElTiempo
