Lumines Plus Puzzle Fusion: Episode 3-11: VS CPU Mode, Man to Emperor
Episode 3, Man:
And thus starts a short trek through ten competitive skins.
You know, the stages with slower timelines are actually easier if you are very good at deleting blocks and managing the space you have.
Then again, this is the first stage. It's meant to be easy.
I titled this video as generic as I could. It's just a man we're against, so let's keep it at that.
Episode 4, Discs: (1:29)
Ah, Auto Mobile Industry. It's one of my favorite skins to play on based on its design. A bunch of electronic beats and synthesizers populate the whole skin. I love it!
Some people told me our opponent here was a slinky. That's not true. It's a bunch of record discs!
A slinky never separates!
Also, another thing I just noticed. YouTube said this video was shaky and asked if I wanted to automatically stabilize it.
What? There's nothing going on except block deletion. That makes no sense.
Episode 5, Robot: (2:27)
I originally thought this skin was decent in terms of music. However, this skin has the most indistinguishable blocks in the game (in my opinion). It's really difficult to determine what's even a block in this skin!
Luckily, my opponent did not pose much of a fight this match.
Episode 6, Mouse: (4:15)
For some reason, this skin brought a very weird feeling of nostalgia.
Have you ever watched Tom and Jerry? The classic cat-and-mouse cartoon that a bunch of people enjoyed when it was still running? I bought a couple DVD sets for myself to re-watch episodes if I wanted to. I enjoyed every episode. Only a few of them I would consider a tad boring and "had a conflict that was already done before."
So, then we get to the bird singing in the night. (That's literally what this skin is called.) There's a bunch of cheese. I figured our opponent would therefore be one to embrace this kind of dairy product: a mouse. A pink mouse. No wonder this mouse puts up a fight. She wants the cheese all to herself!
Does she have a family? Where are her family members? Why don't they help her out?
Also, somewhat off-topic, but is Jerry the mouse male or female? I mean, he or she did some ballet moves in a couple Chuck Jones episodes, but he or she is also strong witted, never caught by Tom the cat. That mouse also has some skills in sports too, like ice skating. (That's a sport, right?) I really have no idea what's the gender on this mouse.
(Just found out on Wikipedia. He's male. Hold on, Wikipedia is never reliable. You know what, let's just say he's male for now. If someone wants to prove me wrong, leave me a message.)
Wow, my mind's really weird if I came up with all of this on this skin instead of the others.
I guess we are who we are.
Episode 7, Vampire: (4:58)
Why is this skin so creepy? There's these voices that are speaking and the skin's in Japanese! It sure would help to have a translator right now...
You know, I started to get curious as to how people made these interesting names for skins like this. Mekong. It's a river in Asia, but what is that supposed to symbolize for a skin like this? We see blue blocks, which could be water, and green blocks, which could be grass. The special blocks in this skin are castles.
Is this a Castlevania-esque skin, where the fall of a castle has led to ruin, and one vampire remains from the destruction that we have to finish off?
Wow, Lumines has more attention to detail than I thought.
Episode 8, Egyptian: (5:50)
I honestly have no good description for this episode.
It's just some jewelry. And coins.
And gems.
This is Bejeweled Alpha, isn't it?
Episode 9, Sheriff: (6:40)
A skin with guns and explosions? This is the manliest skin ever!
...wait, what? That's it? Thirty seconds?
How disappointing...
Episode 10, Joker (7:32)
It looks like we're at Las Vegas, apparently.
Remember, poker games are nothing to joke about. There's always a lot at stake. Stay ahead of the game!
The interesting thing about this skin is that since there are only two colors, there are only two suits used, the spade and the heart.
Is that supposed to symbolize something?
Episode 11, Emperor (8:11)
And here we are at the penultimate VS CPU skin. It's a Chinese restaurant.
I wonder what we did to anger the emperor? I'm pretty sure I eat with attention to my etiquette.
Right?
