The M3A is the stock standard laser that everyone is going to end up using. They're average in just about every respect, except power usage which is pretty low, so at least you can fire almost constantly. Overall I'm sure everyone will go for more specialized weapons that have more 'personality', but while the M3A is boring, it is reliable.
