Apple has had a rough year, just like everyone did in 2020.

From the COVID-19 pandemic (it originated in Wuhan, PRC), which left many unemployed, to the BLM riots that have swept the US (still is to a certain extent), Apple has made a lineup of mediocre products this year.

The iPhone SE was praised by many to have the same power as an iPhone 11 for $400, as well as the fingerprint sensor (which is a requirement when many areas of the world are having government-ordered mask mandates), but many so-called "tech YouTubers" have criticized it for being "boring," "too bulky", "trash", and "outdated."

Apple also released new iPads, but I feel like these iPads aren't as competitive enough as the Surface line of products (or more importantly, the crowdfunded Eve V tablet) due to many fatal flaws (a lack of a headphone jack for most models, USB-C charging, and confusing lineup reminiscent of the early to mid 1990s Macintosh lineup).

The iPhone 12 is Apple's first phone with real 5G technology. Despite having the best compatibility with 5G networks worldwide, it was heavily criticized for not having a charger in the box. There was even more criticism from Hong Kong, where Joshua Wong said that he'd rather free the 12 HK youths illegally detained in Shady Shenzhen by the CCP. In Japan, there is criticism due to the SIM-free model not having mmWave 5G compatibility with any Japanese 5G network (as revealed by SumaSapo (Smart Support) Channel on YouTube.)

And then come the new Macs. Apple introduced three new Mac products, but this has been Apple's third architecture change in the Mac line. I'll explain why changing architectures this many times is harmful to consumers and developers alike, and the implications it has on virtualization software like VMware, Parallels, and VirtualBox.
