I have upgraded MacOS so many times that this has become a routine task for me.
However, sometimes I am asked how to get past this and the easiest way is to show how :)

So, no worries, there is a fix for that and it's called: update macports to match your current OS version. Simple as that!

Well, not always as simple as that but this time it was :)

In this demo, the error was because I was trying to use Macports BigSur version on Monterey while executing port -v selfupdate command:
Error: Current platform "darwin 21" does not match expected platform "darwin 20"
