Global bifurcation themes continue to accentuate, with the developed markets making progress with vaccination and opening up gradually, while many developing countries continue to the struggle with infection outbreaks. India is under the radar with record cases lately, clouding its outlook. Meanwhile, China and the US are on course to print sufficient GDP growth this year to make up for the lost output of 2020, but the underlying drivers of the two recoveries are starkly different. We examine these developments and the near-term outlook in our May Macro Insights Livestream. I will be joined by China chief economist Chris Leung and India senior economist Radhika Rao.
