Macros for Morons | Tips to Eat Right, Lose Fat, and Gain Muscle
Ready to learn what macros are, and the easiest ways to help you lose that fat & gain muscle? Well this video is for you then. We give you a very simple and straightforward way to understand macros, and basic ways to think about them while reworking your diet.
The three macros are simply proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. There are subcategories of each, and we explain those briefly as well. Then, we explain the calories contained in these macros, and how to figure out how many of each macro to eat. Lastly, we introduce you to your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate), and we show you how to use that to decide how many calories to eat.
Here's how to figure out what to eat.
1. Calculate your BMR. The BMR calculator is here: https://www.calculator.net/bmr-calculator.html
2. Find your activity level on the chart towards the end of the video and multiply your BMR by this number. This is your Daily Calorie Requirement.
3a. If you want to lose weight, eat about 300 calories less than this.
3b. If you want to gain muscle, eat slightly more than this.
4. You have to keep track of the calories you eat to accomplish this. Use a simple smartphone app like MyFitnessPal!
