The ninth episode of Mad Men's fourth season, entitled "The Beautiful Girls," aired on September 19, 2010, on AMC. Here's a recap in case you missed it:

As "The Beautiful Girls" opens, Don is seen in bed with Dr. Faye Miller, making it clear their relationship is progressing rapidly.

Peggy, meanwhile, has been set up on a blind date by Joyce with political writer Abe Drexler. Peggy and Abe's date goes downhill when Abe criticizes Peggy for working on a campaign for Filmore Auto Parts. The auto giant had come under fire recently in the South for refusing to hire black employees, prompting a political boycott. Eventually, Peggy walks out on the date.

Back at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, Roger is flirting with Joan and hoping she'll accept his dinner invitation. Roger's secretary points out that Joan is going through a rough time, having just found out her husband will be going to Vietnam after Basic Training. Roger feels bad and hires a masseuse team to give Joan a night of in-home pampering.

Meanwhile, Don is in a meeting with the bickering executives from Filmore Auto Parts. When his daughter, Sally, unexpectedly shows up at the office - having run away from home - Don stows her in his office and returns to the meeting. More chaos erupts when Peggy discovers that Don's secretary, Ms. Blankenship, has died at her desk. Peggy and the other women in the office quickly stow the now-deceased Ms. Blankenship out of sight, so the Filmore execs won't see her.

Roger uses Ms. Blankenship's death to convince Joan to have dinner with him. As the two are walking home after dinner, they are mugged. No one is hurt, but Joan is quite shaken, having lost her wedding ring in the robbery. Joan kisses Roger, and the two end up having sex on the street. Later, Joan admits she doesn't regret the affair, but reminds Roger that the two of them are still married.

Once the Filmore executives leave the office, Don deals with his runaway daughter. Betty informs him that he must entertain Sally until she picks her up the next evening. Don is affectionate with his daughter and Sally tries to get him to let her live with him. Don says no and when Betty arrives to pick her up, Sally gets hysterical. Faye tries, unsuccessfully, to calm Sally down. Where Faye fails, Don's new secretary, Meaghan, succeeds, and eventually a calmer Sally leaves the office with Betty. Meagan seems shaken up, while Faye seems more concerned with herself and her role in the scenario.
