Madden NFL 20 Tutorial | How To Double Team Receivers, When, Why | Tips To Stop Opponent Cheese
This video is a tutorial showing how to double team receivers in Madden NFL 20. I also explain why it's useful and how it can potentially stop opponent cheese.
How to Double Team in Pre-Play (Pre Snap)
1.) Hover over / control the defend you want to assign to a receiver
2.) Go into preplay adjust defense option.
3.) Choose Individual Adjustment
4.) Choose Man Coverage
5.) Choose an eligible receiver you want to defend.
You can repeat this another time to assign two defenders to a receiver. Or if you're feeling wild, assign 3 to a single receiver!
Joking aside, double teaming a receiver (or back) is an important mechanic on defense in Madden NFL 20. Trust me, I've been cheesed so many times by runningbacks. In my experience, putting two linebackers on the back can really help stop this cheese. When you notice an opponent throwing to a specific receiver who's a superstar, this is also very helpful. With the introduction of x factors, there are certain receivers you HAVE to basically double otherwise they'll pretty much catch everything and be unstoppable.
Also, it's just good to mix up your defense and keep your opponent on their toes. Take this example.
One side of your defense is zone. One size is man defense. Your opponent snaps the ball and makes an initial read that you're running man defense. He then tosses it to a receiver who he thinks is "open" but you pick him off because you have a defender lurking in a zone. Easy.
Let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to help. Assigning defenders man to receivers is a super important mechanic in this game if you want to get better.
