makerGNU are remix versions of Ubuntu Mate and Trisquel.
Versions 1.xx are based on Ubuntu Mate 18.04 LTS.
MakerGNU adds some useful tools for 3D Modelling and Printing, Electronics, Programming, ... while keeping standards included applications for bureautic, internet, messaging ...
Recommended minimal hardware specifications for installation :
- Disk Space : 20 Go for the system (9,1 Go used after install)
- RAM : 2Go (1Go works for standard desktop use, but it's cheap for some of the apps)
Some of the included applications may require higher hardware to have the best experience.
For testing low specs, i have succesfully ran and installed makerGNU on a 1.6Ghz Atom Netbook with 1.5Go RAM.
This project is intended to evolve so feel free to submit your ideas or additional applications !
FabLac supports Free Software, so we advise to disable Restricted and Multiverse repositories for Ubuntu-based versions.
