Making a difference in a remote community
1Meet IBMer Takahito, an IT Specialist who has taken the role of squad leader for a project IBM is supporting through the #IBMSustainabilityAccelerator’s partnership with Miyakojima City in Japan.
Takahito and a talented team of motivated IBM volunteers are applying IBM Technology, IBM Consulting, IBM Systems Engineering, and IBM Japan Digital Services skills to develop an energy forecasting model to help improve the community’s clean, renewable energy self-sufficiency.
Like many IBMer volunteers, Takahito encourages colleagues to get involved. “The IBM Sustainability Accelerator is an activity in which you can use your skills and experience to solve local issues and contribute to society,” he says. More IBM volunteers like Takahito will participate in the latest IBM Sustainability Accelerator cohort focused on water management.
