🧵 Making a simple winding machine My first step for ⚡ The Big Tesla Coil Project
Today marks the inaugural step in an electrifying project —a ⚡ Big Tesla Coil, built from the ground up, and it's all made possible with the support of DEWESoft. This journey will be a masterclass in electronics, high-voltage engineering, 3D printing, working with bi-component resin, and so much more. https://youtube.com/shorts/0hZPEbYT9EE
From winding over a kilometer of wire to mastering the use of bi-component resin for securing the coil to the tube, every aspect of this build is a learning curve steeped in innovation. Thanks, DEWESoft Italia I've upgraded my lab with a versatile bench power supply, allowing for variable voltage and amperage, which you can see in action in the video, where I conduct a preliminary test with a smaller tube.
The heart of the Tesla Coil, the toroid, may be a 3D-printed structure or other solution that I will test, meticulously wrapped in aluminum tape, commonly used in aircraft repair—blending traditional construction with advanced materials.
This project is more than just an ambitious build; it's an educational venture that will explore the depths of high-voltage systems and the intricacies of modern manufacturing techniques. Stay tuned as I document each milestone of this electrifying adventure.
