Making Bread on My Birthday
It's my birthday today and I made some bread! So sorry about the verticle video, I forgot I was filming on my phone but I will make sure I don't do that again.
Recipe I used in the video:
water 1.8 cups
sugar 2/5 cups
salt 1.5 tsp
oil 3 Tbsp
yeast 1 Tbsp
flour 5 cups
Recipe for one 2lb loaf:
water 1 1/4 cup
sugar 1/4 cup
salt 1 tsp
oil 2.13 Tbsp
yeast 2 tsp
flour 3 1/4 cups
Instructions:
Mix everything but the flour and allow the mixture to sit for about 10 minutes or until the yeast foams. Then mix in flour until the dough doesn't stick to the bowl. Spray the loaf pan with non-stick spray or apply butter to the pan. Place the dough in the loaf pan, cover it, and allow it to rise until the loaf is the size you'd like it to be.
If your house is cold and you want it to rise faster just turn your oven light on and allow the bread to rise in the oven, don't forget to take it out when it's done so you can preheat the oven.
Heat the oven to 350 degrees F and bake for about 20 minutes or until the top of the bread is a nice golden brown color. Butter the top and allow the loaf to cool outside the pan. Slice and enjoy!
