DogDay, the once charismatic leader of the Smiling Critters, now stands as a haunting toy produced by Playtime Co. His journey unfolds in Chapter 3: Deep Sleep, where he transforms from a minor antagonist into a tragic figure subjected to the unsettling Bigger Bodies Initiative.
Originally, DogDay thrived alongside his Smiling Critters companions, each undergoing their own Bigger Bodies experiment. However, after the disbandment following The Hour of Joy, DogDay emerged as the lone survivor. Trapped by CatNap within a hidden cell in the Playhouse, he faced relentless torment for defying The Prototype's commands.
As the player powers the Playhouse's backup generator and confronts the Mini Smiling Critters, they discover DogDay imprisoned, missing several limbs. In a one-sided conversation, DogDay's tragic fate unfolds as the Mini Smiling Critters devour his body, turning him into a vessel to pursue the player.
DogDay's appearance is that of an anthropomorphic canine, with expressive black eyes, floppy ears, and a sleek black nose. His orange fur is complemented by a sunshine-yellow mouth and belly, while Golden-Brown accents grace his paws, ears, and the left side of his face. A captivating gold sun pendant, surrounded by radiant orange sun rays, hangs from a distinct black zipper down his center. His perpetual toothless grin hides a mysterious darkness within.
The Bigger Bodies version of DogDay is a grotesque sight. Bisected at the waist, his thin torso is held together by a tan leather belt, preventing his innards from spilling out. Black stitches connect his arms to his body, ending in massive human-like hands. His eyes, like CatNap's, are hollow black sockets with white irises, and a large gaping mouth lacks any trace of teeth.
In the transition from toy to cartoon appearance, DogDay retains his essence but loses the zipper line. White pupils are added, and the zipper pendant becomes part of a black necklace. The haunting tale of DogDay unfolds as a blend of tragedy and horror within the eerie world of Playtime Co.
