Maki's Adventure is a very satisfying platformer with a cool method of travel between islands that takes you out of 2D and puts you into a 3D world. It's a cool idea, but you don't make a lot of use out of this mode aside from the final boss battle.

The game is set up with a town to visit, and 3 dungeons that you'll need to fight through to reach the boss and unlock one of your shark teeth. The levels are fairly short, but the game feels rather expansive with how everything is set up. The combat is not very in depth, but it is satisfying. That's the important bit, and I have no real complaints about the combat.

The dungeons look pretty cool and are overall designed nicely. There were only a few times I found myself feeling unsure of where to go, but I found my way rather quickly.

Overall it's a fairly short platformer, I finished the story in about 1.5 hours roughly. There were a few unlocks I didn't finish and side quests I didn't do, as they weren't engaging/rewarding enough to pull me away from the main quest. It's rather fun though, and I think it's definitely worth picking up.
