[MAME] Heavy Unit running in MAME with 'Mermaid' MCU emulated
19"Dr. Decapitator" and Phil Bennett got Heavy Unit running in MAME using the original MCU code which was extracted from the chip using high resolution photographs of the MASK rom.
This allows the protection to be correctly emulated, and the game in a playable state. Previously the only versions of the game playable under emulation were the PCE-CD and Megadrive ports.
This capture is from an interim version of MAME, and the progress will be included in the 0.141 release, due at the end of 2010.
A few minor sprite issues remain which will need verification against the original board.
