✎Kept you waiting huh? xD Like 5 years lol. To be fair I only intended to do the first chapter when I released those two videos. I only considered doing the others when it got popular and people kept asking for the second chapter. I only really got serious about it when the anime movie for SAO Progressive got announced and the manga dubs got a huuuuge amount of attention lol.
✎Anyway I'm so glad I got Melodubs back as Asuna. I feel bad for keeping them waiting for so long when they did express interest in doing a second chapter. I think they did super well considering they've been away from voice acting for awhile. But their skill still remains~
✎I got my voice imouto Miya to voice Argo lol. She usually played Leafa/Sugu way back in the day. I can tell she's really improved since we last worked together as she gave me at least 3 varied takes of each line. I kinda felt like I typecasted her to voice sweet girls when I know she can do more before. So I asked her to do a voice test to see if she can do someone with a bit of shade/sass to them lol. And I think she did well~
✎Nikko did awesome for the extra people~ They're awesome in general so I knew I could count on them lol. Nikko has apparently been a fan of me for awhile. Shame I sort of mini-retired from voice acting when he was getting on up. But I'm kinda back now so maybe we can work more together if I feel up for it. I myself have been busy with a full time job, exercising/working out...living lol so it's extra for me to do voice acting stuff in general.
✎Now voicing Kirito was a lot more natural than I thought it was gonna be? Lol. I've been voicing Sora for fandubs a lot more so I was worried I might have to spend some time trying to find the voice again and though there were some hiccups it wasn't that bad. I kind of made him more expressive? He is a bit of a prankster so I fed into that mentality a little bit more.
✎For the music I kept the title screen the same because I like the call back to the first season of SAO. But for the credits I wanted to try something newer/make an AMV of it. For a long time I was stuck on the song "Sinner" by LiSA aka the singer of the first season opening. But I was mainly concerned about getting copyright striked if I used it so I wasn't really fond of that. Then I heard a random ad for the mobile game Epic Seven and I was like...THIS IS EPIC lol. And I finalized that this was the song I was gonna use. And they seem ok with other videos sharing/using the song so it works well for the copyright issue as well. The guitar cover used was from a fan of the song who participated in a contest held by the Epic Seven team and I realized I could make the "Promise" melody the main theme of this whole manga dub in general with different arrangements and such of the song lol. It just helps to give a overarching theme for the series musically at least. Also it makes the thing feel more professional sounding lol. The lyrics in general for "Promise" match the narrative themes of SAO Progressive very well in my opinion. Almost like the song was made for this lol.
✎For the rest of the music I just tried to find what works for the scene. For those of you that do not know music is a big component of how I edit. My AMV soul makes me try to edit to match the images with the music. Once you start editing AMVs you kind of start imagining visuals with music whenever you listen to anything and that quirk helps with editing videos for me. Also...I kind of picked music that were created after the first manga dub just cause I wanted to vindicate to myself and say "See!? This would not have been possible if I haven't waited five years to do it!" Lol. So that's why tracks from Nier Automata, Pokemon Let's Go, and Breath of the Wild are in there.
✎Now will I do a chapter 3? Now that I sort of dipped into it more I kind of want to more than when I finished the first chapter. But no promises (haha the credits theme is "Promise") because my schedule's kind of funky now and voice acting is on a lower priority than it was before for me.
